Covid-19 isn’t the only global pandemic we are forced to face in this surreal moment, since misinformation is aggressively spreading just as quickly, we are also confronting an “infodemic”. The creators of fake news blur our vision by taking advantage of our current state of vulnerability, for this reason I’ve decided to do a photographic project about this type of pandemic not immediately recognizable.

After analyzing three of the most absurd headlines, I tried to visually translate them by creating three posters taking as main reference the articles related to the magical cures that we’ve definitely stumbled upon in these weeks. I got inspired by the captivating and persuasive style of the 50s American advertising, also knowing that it would cause some massive controversies today. According to the notion of wishful thinking “Men willingly believe what they wish” which explains decision-making based on what might be pleasing to imagine. By taking this concept to the extreme, I sell three fake news in an optimistic and unrealistic way in order to make people question the truthfulness of such informations.
