Design Classic – Salsa Valentina (1960)

Salsa Valentina is a must evey single mexican family has at home. It was first created by Manuel Maciel Méndez, who was the runner of a small family business located in Jalisco, Mexico, called “Grupo Tamazula”. Due to the early success his sauces got all around the
country and their uptake among the citicens, the siluet of Jalisco remained the distinct image on the package label. It became so famous and known over the years, that when children who
attended primary school where asked the name of the region showed on the map, they quickly replaied by saying that it was called Salsa Valentina, instead of Jalisco.

Salsa Valentina darf nicht in der Küche einer mexikanische Familie fehlen. Sie würde von Manuel Maciel Méndez erschaffen, der ein kleines Familienunternehmen in Jalisco, Mexiko, unter der Namen “Grupo Tamazula” besaß. Aufgrund des frühen Erfolgs und die Akzeptanz seiner Saucen im ganzen Land, blieb das Siluet von Jalisco auf der Verpackung das unverwechselbare Bild des Etiketts. Sie wurde im Laufe der Jahre so berühmt, dass Kinder,
die der Grundschule besuchten und nach die Name der Region gefragt worden sind, ganz überzeugt waren dass dies Salsa Valentina anstatt Jalisco hieß.

Salsa Valentina è un must che ogni famiglia messicana deve avere a casa. È stata creata per la prima volta da Manuel Maciel Méndez, chi era a capo di una piccola impresa famigliare situata a Jalisco, Messico, chiamata “Grupo Tamazula”. Grazie al improvviso successo ottenuto dalle sue salse in tutto il paese e alla diffusione tra i abitanti, il siluetto di Jalisco è rimasto l’immagine distintiva sulla etichetta. È diventata così famosa nel corso degli anni  che quando hanno chiesto il nome di questa regione ai bambini  che frequentavano la scuola elementare, loro erano sicuri che si trattava di Salsa Valentina invece di Jalisco.
