Ai-Crafting

AI seems like a revolutionary tool to work with, but the approach to work is really similar to craftsmanship; in short, they may seem like completely different ways of production, but they are not. In both cases, the success of the process is determined by a series of trials and errors that lead, on the one hand, the machine and on the other, the man, to recalibrate the shot; the importance of ‘getting one’s hands dirty’ is a concept they have in common. On the one hand a digital chipboard, on the other a wooden one: both are the result of work that is, after all, craftsmanship, if analyzed from a process point of view. Recognizing this similarity makes it possible to see the work of AI in a different way, and to face without fear or suspicion the ever-changing world we live in today.
