Gianluca Camillini

Gianluca Camillini is an Italian designer and researcher. After his BA and MA degrees at ISIA Urbino (grade cum laude), he worked for several years for communication agencies such as Armando Testa and Heads Collective. Since 2013, he teaches graphic design at the Faculty of Design and Art – Free University of Bolzano. Concurrently, he pursued a PhD in typography and graphic communication at the University of Reading. His research interest focuses on typographical and editorial experimentations from the artistic avant-gardes to the contemporary digital ages, encompassing both design history and practice. Since 2018, he is co-editor of Progetto Grafico, international graphic design magazine. Gianluca Camillini has also served as chair and jury member for several international awards, including the European Design Award and AWDA – women in design award.
His projects and publications have been featured and presented in international contexts, including La Triennale di Milano, MART of Trento and Rovereto, French Academy in Rome, Nida Art Colony, ADI Index, Thames & Hudson, Designers & Books, IUAV – Venice, ECAL Lausanne, Vilnius Academy of Arts.
