Dentro

“Dentro” è un progetto editoriale che si propone di far luce sui problemi di una realtà poco conosciuta: quella della vita detentiva nelle carceri italiane. Attraverso una narrazione frammentata, in forma di fumetto, il progetto ricostruisce la storia immaginaria di tre detenuti. Le loro differenti vite private ed esperienze carcerarie diventano un espediente per toccare vari problemi che affliggono le prigioni italiane. Un tema a cui è dato particolare rilievo è quello della privazione affettiva, intrinseca di ogni pena, che è causa di dolore non solo nelle persone condannate ma anche in chi, da fuori, continua a star loro vicino. Mettendo al centro le persone recluse e le relazioni che hanno con i propri cari, il progetto intende mostrare un lato dei detenuti che difficilmente si riesce a cogliere: quello più umano. Troppo spesso, l’odio, il rancore e la paura nei loro confronti vincono sull’empatia e non permettono a chi sta fuori di vedere che queste persone sono molto di più del reato che hanno commesso. Con un cambio di prospettiva, “Dentro” invita il lettore a porsi domande e ampliare il suo sguardo, per cogliere la storia che si cela dentro ad ogni persona detenuta.

“Dentro” is an editorial project that aims to shed light on the problems of a little-known reality: detention in Italian prisons. Through a fragmented narrative, in the form of a series of comics, the project reconstructs a fictional story of three inmates. Their different private lives and prison experiences become expedient to touch on various problems that affect Italian jails. One particularly prominent theme is that of emotional deprivation, intrinsic to every sentence, which is a cause of pain not only to the convicted persons but also to those who continue supporting them from the outside. By focusing on inmates and the relationships they have with their loved ones, the project intends to show a side of the prisoners that is usually hard to grasp: their human side. Too often, hatred, resentment and fear towards them win out over empathy and do not allow those on the outside to see that these people are much more than the crimes previously committed. With a change in perspective, “Dentro” invites the readers to question themselves and widen their gaze, in order to grasp the story that lies within each detainee.

“Dentro” ist ein Projekt, das sich mit den Problemen einer wenig bekannten Realität beschäftigt: das Leben in den italienischen Gefängnissen. Durch eine fragmentierte Erzählung in Form eines Comics rekonstruiert das Projekt die imaginäre Geschichte von drei Insassen. Ihr unterschiedliches Privatleben und ihre Erfahrungen im Gefängnis werden zu einem Mittel, um verschiedene Probleme anzusprechen, die die italienischen Gefängnisse betreffen. Ein Thema, das besonders hervorgehoben wird, ist die emotionale Entbehrung, die nicht nur den Verurteilten, sondern auch denjenigen, die ihnen nahe stehen, Schmerzen bereitet. Indem das Projekt die Gefangenen und ihre Beziehungen zu ihren Angehörigen in den Mittelpunkt stellt, will es eine Seite der Gefangenen zeigen, die nur schwer zu erfassen ist: die menschliche Seite. Allzu oft siegen Hass, Ressentiments und Angst ihnen gegenüber über Empathie und lassen Außenstehende nicht erkennen, dass diese Menschen viel mehr sind als das Verbrechen, das sie begangen haben. “Dentro“ lädt die Leser dazu ein, Fragen zu stellen und ihren Blick zu weiten, um die Geschichte zu verstehen, die in jeder inhaftierten Person steckt, und wechselt dabei die Perspektive.
