Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 è un progetto editoriale che racconta la storia dello sviluppo urbano di Milano nel Novecento, a partire dalla microstoria della casa della mia famiglia, in via Buonarroti. Milano è conosciuta per essere una città in continuo cambiamento, sempre volta al futuro e a rilanciarsi come una realtà moderna e innovativa, anche a livello internazionale. Il cambiamento è costante e spesso cancella le tracce del passato. La mia famiglia invece è sempre stata interessata a documentare lo sviluppo del quartiere, a partire dalla nostra casa. La documentazione che ha raccolto è fotografica e documentaria, copre tutto il Novecento, e mostra le trasformazioni avvenute in oltre un secolo di storia della città e dei suoi abitanti.

Il progetto include immagini fotografiche, mappe, testimonianze, e documenti ufficiali. Gli scatti da me realizzati di via Buonarroti, della casa e dei suoi abitanti dialogano con le fotografie di questi stessi luoghi in epoche diverse, ma anche con le voci delle persone che vi abitano o vi hanno abitato, e inediti materiali provenienti da numerosi archivi milanesi. Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 è un racconto corale dedicato alla storia di una villa di campagna ottocentesca diventata un condominio nel centro di Milano, e delle vite che l’hanno attraversata.

Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 is a editorial project that tells the story of Milan’s urban development in the 20th century, starting with the micro-history of my family’s house on Via Buonarroti. Milan is known for being a city in constant change, always looking to the future and relaunching itself as a modern and innovative city, even internationally. Change is constant and often erases traces of the past. My family, on the other hand, has always been interested in documenting the development of the neighbourhood, starting with our house. The documentation she has collected is photographic and documentary, covering the entire 20th century, and shows the transformations that have taken place over more than a century of history of the city and its inhabitants.

The project includes photographic images, maps, testimonies, and official documents. The shots I have taken of Via Buonarroti, the house and its inhabitants dialogue with photographs of these same places in different eras, but also with the voices of the people who live or have lived there, and unpublished material from numerous Milanese archives. Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 is a choral tale dedicated to the history of a 19th-century country villa that became an apartment block in the centre of Milan, and of the lives that passed through it.

Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 ist ein Verlagsprojekt, das die Geschichte der Mailänder Stadtentwicklung im 20. Jahrhundert erzählt, ausgehend von der Mikrogeschichte des Hauses meiner Familie in der Via Buonarroti. Mailand ist bekannt dafür, eine Stadt im ständigen Wandel zu sein, die stets in die Zukunft blickt und sich als moderne und innovative Stadt, auch international, neu aufstellt. Der Wandel ist beständig und verwischt oft die Spuren der Vergangenheit. Meine Familie hingegen war schon immer daran interessiert, die Entwicklung des Viertels zu dokumentieren, angefangen bei unserem Haus. Die von ihr gesammelte fotografische und dokumentarische Dokumentation deckt das gesamte 20. Jahrhundert ab und zeigt die Veränderungen, die sich im Laufe von mehr als einem Jahrhundert Geschichte der Stadt und ihrer Bewohner vollzogen haben.

Das Projekt umfasst fotografische Bilder, Karten, Zeugenaussagen und offizielle Dokumente. Die Aufnahmen, die ich von der Via Buonarroti, dem Haus und seinen Bewohnern gemacht habe, stehen im Dialog mit Fotografien derselben Orte in verschiedenen Epochen, aber auch mit den Stimmen der Menschen, die dort leben oder gelebt haben, sowie mit unveröffentlichtem Material aus zahlreichen Mailänder Archiven. Via Buonarroti 37 43 41 ist eine chorische Erzählung über die Geschichte eines Landhauses aus dem 19. Jahrhundert, das zu einem Wohnblock im Zentrum von Mailand wurde, und über das Leben, das dort stattfand.
