“Abbiccì”, è una composizione strutturale destinata all’arredamento dell’aree esterne dell’Istituti Penitenziari Italiani comprendente tre elementi primari quali: uno schienale, uno sgabello e una panchina. Il prodotto, essendo modulabile, permette una configurazione personale che si adatta all’esigenze dell’ambientazione ospitante contribuendo così alla qualità, funzionalità e accoglienza nel contesto. In particolare, le sedute sono progettate per ambienti “delicati” quali “i passeggi”, ovvero, zona ricreativa comune per le persone ristrette e le aree verdi destinate ai colloqui dei detenuti con i famigliari. Essendo destinati ad Ambienti Istituzionali come il Carcere, i tre elementi devono rispondere a specifiche esigenze ed essere preventivi a utilizzi impropri come il loro impiego in un’ipotetica aggressione. Le tre sedute sono oggetti monoblocco, non hanno quindi nessuna componente rimovibile, e si manifestano come solidi stabili grazie anche al loro importante peso conferito dal materiale: il cemento. Sono quindi progettati per assicurare una alta sicurezza e una lunga durata, resistendo a possibili comportamenti distruttivi della utenza reclusa. Inoltre, essendo un oggetto di arredamento esterno, tiene in considerazione la forza degradante degli agenti atmosferici con il minimo di manutenzione. “Abbiccì”, dunque, rappresenta un concreto esempio di come, con il giusto equilibrio tra sicurezza, estetica e funzionalità, si possa contribuire alla dignità e di conseguenza alla qualità della vita in Carcere.

“Abbiccì”, is a structural composition designed to furnish the outdoor areas of Italian Penitentiary Institutes consisting in three primary elements: a backrest, a stool and a bench. The product, being modular, allows for a personal configuration that adapts to the needs of the host environment, thereby contributing to the quality, functionality and liveability of the penitentiary context. In particular, the seats are designed for “delicate” environments such as ” i passeggi” an Italian noun used to indicate a shared recreational area for inmates and the green areas intended for inmates’ “colloquies” with family members. Being intended for institutional environments such as prisons, the three elements must meet specific requirements and be preventative of any improper practise such as being used in a hypothetical assault. The three seats are one-piece objects; therefore, they have no removable components, and appear as stable solids thanks also to their important weight conferred by the material: concrete. They are so designed to ensure high security and a long life, resisting possible destructive behaviour from the imprisoned user. Furthermore, being an outdoor furniture item, it considers the degrading force of atmospheric agents with minimal maintenance. “Abbiccì”, therefore, represents a concrete example of how, with the right balance between security, aesthetics and functionality, one can contribute to the dignity and consequently the quality of life in prison.

“Abbiccì” ist eine bauliche Komposition, die für die Möblierung der Außenbereiche italienischer Gefängnis Institutionen bestimmt ist und aus drei Hauptelementen besteht: einer Rückenlehne, einem Hocker und einer Bank. das Produkt ist modular aufgebaut und ermöglicht verschiedene Konfigurationen zu kreieren. Diese passen sich an die Bedürfnisse des Hauses an und erhöhen die Lebensqualität. die Sitzgelegenheiten sind insbesondere für “heikle” Umgebungen wie “die Gänge” konzipiert. Die Anwendung kann somit in gemeinsamen Erholungsbereichen und Grünflechen, die für die Gespräche der Insassen mit ihren Familienangehörigen bestimmt sind, stattfinden. Da die drei Elemente für Behörden wie Gefängnisse bestimmt sind, müssen sie auf besondere Anforderungen antworten sowie eine missbrauch wieder stehen. Die drei Sitze sind aus einem Beton Guss gefertigt, und haben keine abnehmbaren Teile. Diese stabilen Festkörper sind auch dank ihres hohen Gewichts, welches aus dem Material Zement bestehen, besonders beständig. Diese Produktionstechnik ermöglicht eine lange Lebensdauer und gewährleistet Widerstandsfähigkeit gegen ein mögliches destruktives verhalten der Insassen. Da es sich um ein Möbel für den Außenbereich handelt, und es aus diesem Grund den Witterungseinflüssen ausgesetzt ist, wurde auch die Wartung eingeschränkt. “Abbiccì” ist daher ein konkretes Beispiel dafür, wie man mit dem richtigen Gleichgewicht zwischen Sicherheit, Ästhetik und Funktionalität zur würde und damit zur Lebensqualität im Gefängnis beitragen kann.
