Bean is a magazine about food. I think that it is a really important topic when it comes to talk about society, in general the human being and his perspective on what surronds him. This magazine is dedicated to explore the complex relationships among food, culture, and society from numerous disciplines in the humanities, social sciences and art.

The aim of the magazine is to spread awareness about food not only as a good essential to our lives, but also as something that has a cultural and social value. Food is able to define the identity of a country, to create a meeting point and to build social events, traditions and relationships. Bean also explores some of the main issues that regard the waist of food and the pollution caused by its production, suggesting tips that could improve the situation and be helpful to produce and consume food in a safe way. At the end of each chapter there is a little recipe linked to the topic of the section through which the reader can experiment, try some new dishes and at the same time learn something about the world of food.

For the magazine I tried to use a fresh style with colorful pictures and also some vectorial illustrations. I wanted to create a playful magazine that could be read from everyone with a light design in order to make the reading easy and fluid.
