Starting from the traditional doll with curly hair and a pretty dress, the photographic book “Bambola“ presents an inquiry on this peculiar, yet totally normal object. Far from being only toys, dolls can take on different meanings depending on the context they are in: their value can be religious, cultural, historical, commercial… The pictures lead the reader in the discovery of dolls, showing that they are, in the end, a representation of ourselves.
All the photographs displayed in the book were found during a research based on digital archives.
