Cattivi Libri
BA Visual Communication Project
2019
semester
Cattivi Libri is a project that inverts the way in which we are used to perceive books. They are usually presented as something that has built your personality and biography. In this project, I’m creating an Instagram page in which people tell about their bad experiences when reading. In the past weeks I have interviewed people about the book they hated the most, those that connect them with unpleasant memories. While many of them are students, who told me to have hated both school-imposed books but also ones they themselves chose, there are some adults who have provided me some interesting stories. My aim is to tell these stories, make them public, create a platform where they can be shared, to make everyone understand that books sometimes are bad with us and don’t always provide a constructive or relaxing experience, perhaps fueling someone’s hate towards them.
