Dario is a perpetual calendar designed for giving the perception of time in a world
that everyday is becoming more technological. The main material is Oak wood that has a beautifull color and grain. This tree is one of the oldest on the planet and is one of the few the resisted at the Ice Age, this gives the exact idea of longevity and resistence. Instead of beeing engraved the numbers and letters are painted directly on the wood. The object comes already assembled since the glueing of the last piece could hide some difficulties. The numbers ar painted with two layers of water based paint and when dry covered with an extra layer of linseed oil that gives a shiny effect to the paint and also protects it from an easy usury. After this process the wood will be treated with an oil for hard grain wood that highlights the grain of the wood and his beautiful colour. The name is actually taken from the Italian word “calendario” which is very close also to the English version “calendar” and to the German version “Kalender”. Other then beeing taken from the splitting up the italian word, in Italy is also a name and this could also create a funny moment when you will find yourself talking about it with a friend that as the same name.
