Design a tree project – Grails

We had learned a lot about trees during our WUP semester: we got inspired by its shape, functions and colors. It was time to put all in practice creating an object of design that derived from trees. The functions of trees are really important and necessary for the planet, particularly now with the pollution and global warming problems.

So the question was: in which way could we use trees in our every day life?

We created tiles with the ability to filter water and mantain plants in autonomy on its surface. It’s vantages is to assorb pollution (we imagined these green roofs used in many buildings in a center of the city), product oxygen, and to control the temperature of the building (it both cools and heat it).
