The “Caravelle” was the first commercial fin model. Designed by Luigi Ferraro, for his company Technisub in 1963, it was the first composite fin, created by combining a rubber shoe and a polypropylene blade, an innovative material of the time. The blade could be removed, allowing the use of the single shoe. It was a great technical innovation and inspiration for later models.
