Design Classic – J1 BIC Disposable Lighter (1972)

After acquiring Flaminaire, a French manufacturer of high-quality lighters the year prior, BIC launches the first BIC full-size pocket lighter with an adjustable flame. At the end of 1972, BIC launched mass production of this model. Its reliability and quality made it an immediate success. Today BIC manufactures and sells 5 million lighters every day worldwide.
