The Toastmaker 1A1 is the first pop-up toaster for household use, designed by Charles C. Strite for the US company Waters-Genter in Minnesota.
This toaster was the first of its kind as it was the first to toast the slices of bread on both sides and then to eject them automatically thanks to a timer. Strite received patent no. 1,698,146 on 8 January 1929.
