Design Classic – Toblerone (1908)

Toblerone is a swiss chocolate bar produced at first in 1908 by the Tobler & Cie and later by the US company Mondelēz in 1990. The prismatic shape is based on the Swiss Alps, particularly the Matterhorn. The latter is also rappresented in the logo with a bear standing up on its legs. The name of the bar is a blend word formed of “Tobler” and “Torrone” which in Italian means honey and almond nougat.

Toblerone ist eine schweizer Schokoladentafel, die seit 1990 vom US Hersteller Mondelēz produziert wird. Im Jahre 1908 wurde sie von Tobler & Cie. hergestellt. Die prismatische Form ist von den schweizen Alpen inspiriert, bzw. den Matterhorn. Dieses wird auch in dem Logo mit einen stehenden Bär vertreten.
Der Name ist eine Zusammensetzung aus „Tobler“ und „Torrone“, dem italienischen Namen für Honig-Mandel-Nougat.

Il Toblerone è una barretta di cioccolato svizzero prodotta inizialmente nel 1908 da Tobler & Cie. e più tardi nel 1990 dall’azienda statunitense Mondelēz. La sua forma prismatica riprende le alpi svizzere, in particolare il Monte Cervino. Quest’ultimo viene rappresentato anche nel logo insieme
a un orso eretto. Il nome è la fusione tra “Tobler” e la parola italiana “torrone”.
