A flag which represents and embodies a place, a condition or a situation, either an actual or an imaginary one –where disorder reigns supreme. Chaosland!

Nella mitologia greca il caos è la personificazione dello stato primordiale di vuoto, buio, anteriore alla creazione. Si faccia caso all’etimologia della parola: radice dei verbi χα- , χαίνω χάσκω essere aperto/spalancato, χάσμα voragine. Ciò induce a pensare ad un sistema, termine deposto non a caso, non ancora organizzato dunque aperto ad interpretazione. Creazione è l’ordine che viene dato alle cose, il linguaggio personale, il modo in cui si legge ciò che ci circonda che dicevamo essere caos. Pertanto, l’ordine esiste in funzione del caos e viceversa: sono due aspetti che coesistono.

Le impostazioni del telefono illudono di poter avere il pieno controllo dello strumento stesso, ma precludono comunque il rispetto di un ordine prestabilito. Non è un linguaggio aperto. L’idea di questa bandiera si sviluppa dunque anche dal paradosso di dover utilizzare il telefono come unico strumento per realizzarla, sfruttandolo in quanto mezzo significante.

In Greek mythology, chaos is the personification of the primordial state of emptiness, darkness, prior to creation. Take note of the etymology of the word: root of the verbs χα- , χαίνω χάσκω to be open/spread open, χάσμα chasm. This leads one to think of a system not yet organised and therefore open to interpretation. Creation is the order that is given to things, the personal language, the way we read what surrounds us that we said was chaos. Therefore, order exists as a function of chaos and vice versa: they are two aspects that coexist.

The phone’s settings give the illusion of being able to have full control over the device itself, but they still preclude the respect of a pre-established order. It is not an open language. The idea of this flag therefore also develops from the paradox of having to use the telephone as the only tool to realise it, exploiting it as a signifying medium.
