Font Specimen – Skera Sans

semester

In order to design this Sans Serif typeface I got freely inspired by “Futura Medium” created by Paul Renner in 1927. I would say that this typeface is characterised by strong and precise geometrical shapes, the letters present a rounded appearance and have almost no contrast. “Skera Sans” is a sans serif stencil typeface as long as it presents various cuts in the letters’ strokes. It has a modern appearance, the ascenders and descenders have a typical length compared to the x-height. The name “Skera” comes from the Icelandic translation of the word “aperture”, the main stylistic feature of this typeface.
