We live in an age where social media is one of the most important communication tools used daily by people of all ages. We are overstimulated by a multitude of information that we consciously or unconsciously take in. Gattini e Guerre seeks to take a critical look at social media and demonstrate how our behavior in relation to it, especially on Instagram and Tiktok, has degenerated into an automatic scrolling. Cute cats are put on a par with war and protests: The gradual alignment of this superficial approach with the content we are constantly exposed to is therefore a parallelism that is the central theme of our project. Through the image of cats attracting people, we want to convey that kind of information that is often avoided or passed over with indifference, putting daily news into a new discourse, creating a kind of newsroom, but in a new format.

Wir leben in einer Zeit, in der die sozialen Medien eines der wichtigsten Kommunikationsmittel sind, das von Menschen aller Altersgruppen täglich genutzt wird. Wir werden durch eine Vielzahl von Informationen, die wir bewusst oder unbewusst aufnehmen, überreizt. Gattini e Guerre versucht, einen kritischen Blick auf die sozialen Medien zu werfen und aufzuzeigen, wie unser Verhalten in Bezug auf sie, insbesondere auf Instagram und Tiktok, zu einem automatischen Scrollen ausgeartet ist. Niedliche Katzen werden mit Krieg und Protesten auf eine Stufe gestellt: Die allmähliche Angleichung dieser oberflächlichen Einstellung an die Inhalte, denen wir ständig ausgesetzt sind, ist daher eine Parallelität, die das zentrale Thema unseres Projekts ist. Durch das Bild von Katzen, die Menschen anziehen, wollen wir jene Art von Informationen vermitteln, die oft vermieden oder mit Gleichgültigkeit übergangen werden, indem wir die täglichen Nachrichten in einen neuen Diskurs stellen und eine Art Nachrichtenraum schaffen, allerdings in einem neuen Format.

Viviamo in un’epoca in cui i social media rappresentano uno dei più importanti canali di comunicazione utilizzati quotidianamente da persone di tutte le età. Siamo sommersi da una moltitudine di informazioni che recepiamo consciamente o inconsciamente. Gattini e guerre cerca di porre uno sguardo critico sui social media e di dimostrare come il nostro comportamento in relazione ad essi, soprattutto Instagram e Tiktok, sia degenerato in uno scrolling automatico. I gattini vengono messi sullo stesso piano della guerra e delle proteste: la graduale assimilazione di tale approccio superficiale ai contenuti cui veniamo costantemente esposti si cala dunque ad un parallelismo, che costituisce il tema centrale del nostro progetto. Attraverso l’immagine dei gattini che attirano le persone, trasmetteremo quelle informazioni che spesso vengono evitate, o imperturbabilmente sorpassate, inserendo le notizie quotidiane in un nuovo discorso, creando una sorta di redazione giornalistica, ma in un nuovo formato.
