HÄ is a project to inform about politically correct and inclusive language. The discourse about this topic has become quite heated over the past years and people started to get frustrated and angry. “HÄ” breaks the topic down and makes it easy to understand, in order to avoid anyone feeling excluded or overwhelmed. We understand that inclusive language can feel like a lot to learn and this is why „HÄ“ is there to help.

The visualization of our project consists of 2 parts. The heart of the project is a glossary we established on an instagram account devoted to the project. In this glossary we share easy-to-understand definitions of politically correct and inclusive words. We want to give people the opportunity to learn new, important words in an uncomplicated way.

For the second part, we created an installation meant to be shown in the city, in order to draw attention to the project. The installation consists of 2 huge banners hanging on 2 bridges in the center of Bolzano. We chose the bridges as location, because they connect two sides and we want to show that language connects people. These banners each show a selected term, in order to attract attention and directly access the topic. The terms shown on the banners are: „*INNEN“ and „LGBTQIA+“ and will be explained in the glossary as well. Posters on the bridges will explain the context and the reason for the banners and show a QR code that leads to the glossary.
