Kostüm und Mode – Eine bunte Fibel

Starting from the 1938 book “Kostüm und Mode – Eine bunte Fibel” by Wolfgang Bruhn and illustrated by Helmut Starbina, in this typographical redesign, based on a custom-made sewing pattern, the book pages become parts of an elegant and potentially wearable gown.

All pieces are collected in a folder and can be interlaced with a red ribbon going through metal eyelets to form a three-dimensional dress.

Thus, the book’s subject “fashion” becomes its outer appearance.
