Out Of The Blue

Installation, jeans and nylon thread, 2 x 3m
Publication, recycled paper and colored cardboard, 18 x 18cm

Out Of The Blue was born from a strong passion for fashion and from a continuous and personal reflection on what we can do to improve our quality of life without affecting the world around us. The protagonist of the project is one of the most widely used items of clothing since the 20th century: jeans.
Often we don’t think about the environmental impact of the whole fashion system, but contrary to what we might think, it is quite significant. In addition, there are problems related to the health of workers and users, and water pollution produced by the entire creation of the garment.

The project consists of an installation and a booklet. The first is made up entirely of broken, damaged or simply used jeans that have been donated for the project through a collection campaign and will be donated to charity for use by those in need. The installation hangs entirely from the ceiling at a height of about 2 meters from the ground. The booklet contains the research and sociological analysis of the environmental impact of the garment and the relationship people have with it. The latter is aimed at raising awareness of the subject among those who are beginning to approach the consumerist world of shopping: adolescents and children.
