“Patate bistecche” is a game for children that will be part of the event “Come on Kids! Play with Climate”. Its topic is about water consumption in meat industry, more specifically in the beef cattle farming and how does this type of behaviour harm the environment and contribute to climate change. By playing, the participants discover the concept behind “virtual water” and learn how much our eating choices can influence on climate change.

The narrative behind “Patate bistecche” is the moment of eating. Participants will distribute themselves all around a plate filled with beef steaks and potatoes, on which they will throw disks, similar to hockey pucks, which represent what the player decided to eat, steaks or potatoes. The main aim of the play is to be as sustainable as possible, by “eating” less water, thus throwing as much disks on the potatoes.

The game is also accompanied by a small book, which consists of a short interview about cow Puzzetta (fart in Italian), who explains how does his life in an intensive farming look like. The reader will be able to perceive the sad reality of a cow in an ironic and light – hearted story.
