Picjo

One problem that can be encountered when picking fruit on trees is not knowing where or how to place the bucket used for the harvest. To this problem is added the fact that, to carry a crate full of fruit, we must use both hands. “Picjo” offers a solution to both difficulties, creating a hook that can be also used as a handle or shoulder strap.

The project consists of a resistant band capable of supporting the weight of buckets and crates. The band can be lengthened or shortened through a buckle, depending on the use. On this band slide two hooks.

The two hooks have two eyelets of different diameters. This allows the smaller hook to enter and fit into the larger one. Therefore, a single bigger S-shaped hook is obtained.

The band is wider than the eyelets, which is why it folds inside the hooks. This action allows a better control over the movement and the sliding of the hooks.

The ways of use of “Picjo” are different. It can be attached to crates and used as a handle (with shortened band) or shoulder strap (with elongated band). On smaller branches, it can clasp buckets through the S-shaped hook. On bigger branches, instead, the band can be passed over them and then hooked onto the bucket. It can also be used as a rope to get the buckets to the ground from the tree. “Picjo” is suitable and can be used with any container that has a handle or any form that can be hooked.

It is a product designed especially for smaller and familiar environments and for small fruit and vegetable harvest and transport works. However, it can be used also in larger environments and bigger fruit harvests.
