“Haste is universal because everyone is in flight from himself”- Nietzsche

In today’s fast-moving society and because of the easy access to social media, distraction has become a predictable and repetitive habit. SLOWDOWN aims to let people grow more comfortable with their unfocussed selves transforming reclaim distracted time into occasions of self-soothing.
Largely due to the rapid advancement of technology and the proliferation of digital devices and social media, distraction has become a significant issue in today’s society. Common factors that amplify distraction are multitasking activities and notification overload linked to the desire of instant gratification and lack of mindfulness and self-discipline.
To avoid getting distracted and to increase our ability of staying focused, SLOW DOWN helps people in taking a break to practice mindfulness while, at the same time, helping in setting boundaries with digital devices.

As defined by the therapist Dieter Brodowski, breathing exercises promote stress reduction, anxiety management, focus and emotional regulation. Taking breaks in general allows for mental rejuvenation and increase self-awareness.
SLOW DOWN offers a space to lean back and be offline, teaching at the same time each individual to navigate the fast-paced nature of a hectic society with a greater sense of calm, clarity, and resilience.
