‘Puerpera Amoris’ is a fictional imaginary plant. On summer solstice’s day, the longest day of the year, some ambrosia nectar is released in the plant by a dove, an animal sacred to the goddess of fertility Aphrodite, who sends it among men. After fulfilling its duties, the bird perishes: from its remains a new plant originates, which will populate another area of the earth. The ambrosia nectar fertilizes the plant, depositing inside it what will then become an egg. Ambrosia also renews the immortality of the plant year by year, being able to immortalize anything on which it is sprinkled. During its pregnancy, the plant swells, reaching the zenith after 9 months. With childbirth, the final phase is reached, and the consequent release into the air of a dove, the same one that will fertilize the plant on the next summer solstice.
