Never for love, always for money?

sCare is a fictional company from a dystopian future that sells care robots “to take care of the eldery” and marks them as lifestyle products.
The video we produced is supposed to look like an advertisement that is designed to draw an irritating image towards the audience. By using a narrative that is commonly used by tech companies and irritating visuals we want to spark a debate about where care work is headed to and how we as a society value that work today.  Do we really want to eradicate the human factor out of care work for the sake of generating new profit bringing markets?

Crisis’ like now indicate systemic failure, and we need to talk about it. With speculative design, other points of views (also approaches to possible dystopian or utopian futures) can be constructed, creating the possibility to expand the debate about care work and what it might, could and should (not) look like in the future.

sCare is just a touch away (please notice the wordplay).
