Scherben is a liporello about “Scherben” – broken pieces. Objects made of clay break easily; their shards look like functionless waste. But once an object is broken, its remains last for millennia. When archaeologists look at and examine these shards, they can tell stories, e.g. who traded with whom and depending on where the vessels were made or where the shards were found.
