For the analysis of a famous social media profile, we were asked to create a thematic alphabet, able to reflect the values and the personality of said account. We analyzed @shiey , the youtube channel of a Ukrainian musician and outdoor content creator, famous for his illegal journeys riding freight trains and also his adrenalinic parkour skills. Our claim, used in the poster as payoff, is a line from his song “shining”, one that most embodies Shiey’s search for freedom in his own peculiar view of society.

Thematic Alphabet — From A to Z

Our alphabet was inspired by graffiti culture and the style in which Shiey leaves his tag around. The shapes are bubbly and made to be iconic and recognizable.

Extreme Self — Poster

Face detected.

A security software tries to analyze an individual only from their eyes. The rest of the face is covered. Among other information, the software has to distinguish gender, age group and ethnicity.

Is it getting dehumanizing?

Is the software only dangerously assuming?

Should we, as a society, change something else to safely approach identity?
