During these two years many works were dedicated to storm Vaia. In this publication past and present are connected in order to remember the history of a community that has managed this immense heritage for more than a thousand years and made it a cultural wealth. The roots, torn from the ground, articulate themselves in the air generating forms that are unknown to us. Thus, we can observe them and understand the similarities with their aerial reflection: the branches. In the same way we can discover the roots of this community to understand its affinities with the present, discovering that a united population is able to overcome adversities and natural disasters. Two years after the storm, the forest begins to be reborn, on the branches of the trees lying on the ground and on the logs cut to prevent unplanned falls. The mosses are born and color this surfaces. These small plants are new life rising from the ashes, like a phoenix readyto spread its wings.
