“Still a woman” is a project within the course Exhibition Graphic Design: processes of cultural practice at Unibz. Our aim is to spread awareness on the topic of motherhood.

The idea that a woman cannot be happy or feel fulfilled without children is still very rooted in our society. Women are still living in a world that divides them into mothers and not mothers. Here, right in the division, it would be nice to create a network ready to support without judging women’s  different choices for their lives.

Our choices should be free from judgment and societal pressure. Those who openly admit their inability to have children are met with compassion and pity while those who consciously choose not to have children are often labeled as self-centered, prioritizing their interests over those of others. In this societal framework that divides us into mothers and non-mothers, STlLL A WOMAN is an action to help build a supportive network of people that respects and embraces diverse choices.

A woman who has children is more than just a mother, just as a woman without children is no less deserving of the title. Motherhood should not be the sole determinant of a woman’s identity or worth. Motherhood encompasses not only the act of giving life and caring for a child but also extends to nurturing nieces, nephews, adopted children, own passions and ideas. Motherhood can be embodied through many diverse choices and yet a woman remains Still a woman.
