Tear-stained

semester
Tear-stained is a project created during the workshop of Guido Scarabottolo which consists of a pinecone and a pine needle brush, immersed in ink to produce abstract, evocative traces.
“I have lived my whole life on a pine tree until someone brought me far away from home. I felt so homesick and lonely, I laid down and when I smelt the perfume of home coming from the white piece of paper underneath me, I started crying black tears out of my eyes. When I had no more tears to cry, I looked down and saw other copies of me. Suddenly, I was not alone anymore and that feeling of emptiness disappeared like tears in rain.”
