Traces of an ordinary day – A story told by a piece of clay
BA Art Studio
2021
semester
I am here with you.
A malleable block of clay. I‘m in your red vest pocket on the right side. Do you feel me? Because you can‘t see me. You take me on a 24-hour journey. A journey into your everyday life. I enter into dialogue. I enter into dialogue with the dirt in your pocket, with the friction of the fabric, with the movement of your steps, with the mechanical pressure and with time. You have much to tell me. I store each encounter on my surface, traces that are visible but difficult to read.
What remains at the end of the journey?
Signs, wrinkles, imprints, dirt.
A poetry written in an extraordinary language.
