Inspired by the perception of trees as living creatures (which protect and care for their small ones) and by a Matrioska as a growth metaphor, the “Wazony ” concept came together.
Wazony is a series of modular vases that is able to shield a small plant and grow with it. This is possible thanks to an inner structure composed by four sections made of agar agar bioplastic, a naturally made material that slowly biodegrades as the plant grows. As the smaller vase starts being tight, all the owner needs to do is full-filling the slightly bigger one (the next vase) with soil. In this way, the plant won’t endure the stress of repotting and the owner won’t need to own or throw away many different vases.
Once the bigger biodegradable vase is finally completely (dissolved), the external structure made of ceramic will remain and last forever.
