wet hair violence
BA Art Studio
2019
semester
the content of this performance is dedicated to repetition and what happens during the process to the body itself. an action was repeated 20 times in a row with the same care and attitude. It deals with the sudden – but subtle – shift in role models. a caring action of washing somebody‘s hair turns into something brutal, an act of silent violence and trembling bodies. the space and the performers themselves non verbally talk about a specific stereotypical role model and how to break it. the mirror shows the second, emotional persona hidden inside the woman who is yet again taking the shampoo bottle to wash someone else‘s hair for another time.
